The Goji Berry is the latest "discovery" of the health nuts all over the planet. The 'wolfberry' has also been crowned the 'happy berry' and is said to promote everything from weight loss, to longevity to sexual potency. That's a tall order for such a tiny, little berry but the experts for once agree that this particular fruit, known officially as 'lycium barbarum', lives up to its prestigious reputation.

So what is it about this berry that has naturopaths and herbalists in an orgasmic frenzy? The answer lies in the fact that goji berries contain four unique bioactive polysaccharides which bolster our immune systems and fight the effects of day-to-day stress which can take an enormous toll on our health. These incredibly beneficial molecules provide high levels of antioxidant protection, improve fertility, vision, liver and kidney function.

Doctors and healthcare professionals advise that the goji is best consumed as a juice. While this is the most expensive option available to Westerners, the liquid goji is best absorbed by the body, making all the bioflavanoids, readily available. It can also be taken as a dried berry (now being manufactured by the big blokes) or as a powder or tablet.

Goji has been a staple element of Traditional Chinese Medicine for generations and in Asia it has long been accepted as a vital source of well-being. The longest -living humans in the world live in the Himilayas and they consume goji berries daily. What does that tell you?
The key to its anti-aging properties lies in its ability to stimulate the production of human growth hormone (hGH). The levels of these natural hormones begin to decrease as we age and contribute to wrinkling of skin, loss of bone density and mental alertness and memory. Some claim that regular consumption of the Goji berry will boost these hormonal levels and thus a fifty year old Goji guzzler might just have the hGH levels of someone more than a decade younger.

In my book "The Butterfly Plan" I have focussed on eight key supplements that will help to stabilize and rebalance the body to get you back on an even keel and Goji is number one on the list. Go...go...Goji!

Clients who have followed The Butterfly Plan which is a forty day bootcamp for body, mind and soul - all sing the praises of the almighty Goji. One to two weeks of a daily dose of the juice and you will feel like flying! People will be asking what has happened to you because you'll look different.

Consuming Goji regularly has a similar effect on the body to falling in love. It'stabilizes your appetite, puts a glint in your eye and colour in your cheeks.

Get some into you. Get Goji. Get gorgeous!
