When Taylor Swift sings, everyone listens. The powerful 19 year old songstress is known for turning her life experiences into heartbreaking country songs, and now shes taking her fun loving act on the road. Swifts latest release Fearless has been topping the Billboard charts for months now, and the incredible singer is following up the monumental success of her 2008 release by announcing a headlining tour to accompany it. Swifts upcoming six month tour will be her first to headline, and she has tapped American Idol finalist and fellow country music goddess Kellie Pickler to jam along with her on her 50 city Fearless Tour this upcoming spring and summer.
Taylors Swifts much anticipated Fearless Tour will kick off in Evansville, Indiana on April 23, plowing through large and small cities and towns throughout the country thereafter. The tour includes stops in Florida for a strawberry festival and in Texas at a livestock show and rodeo, also hitting cities like Seattle, Los Angeles, New York and Chicago before the tour comes to a close with an October 10 show in Minneapolis. The Fearless Tour is already rousing speculation on how Taylor Swifts live performances will stack up to her recorded megahits, and as the artist plans on playing five different guitars at each show, this upcoming string of tour dates will undoubtedly be one for the record books. Taylor Swift has been a natural performer since her youth, and the wide eyed tow headed musical prodigy made her public debut at age 11 when she sang the Star Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers game. The Wyomissing, Pennsylvania native grew up inspired by music, and after realizing her full potential Swifts family moved to an area outside Nashville, Tennessee, so the aspiring singer could make a go at Music City. The move paid off, as Swift was discovered by Nashville producer Scott Borchetta while playing at the Bluebird Caf, and she soon thereafter had inked a record deal at Big Machine Records and had released her first charting single, Tim McGraw, all by the age of 16.
In 2006 Taylor Swift released her debut self titled album, drawing upon her experiences as a high school aged teenager to deliver adolescent tales and growing pains in the form of heartbreaking ballads and fun loving tunes. Taylor Swift was an instant number one on the country music charts and spawned the smash singles Our Song, Teardrops on My Guitar, Picture to Burn and Shouldve Said No, all Top Five hits on the country music charts while also earning spots on the pop charts, as well.
Continuing her quest for country music domination, Taylor Swift breezed right through the mid 2000s and is still going strong, releasing her sophomore album Fearless in 2008 to critical acclaim. Fearless debuted at number one and held the position into 2009, already sparking a number one hit with the albums leading single Love Story. Since her rise to superstardom, Taylor Swift has toured alongside country music heavyweights like Brad Paisley and Faith Hill, and now her headlining tour will make the young songstress an absolute mainstay on the country music scene.
