These quick and easy oatmeal recipes will help to add a little extra flavor to an old favorite. Oatmeal is a healthy and delicious way to start the day and these flavorful breakfast ideas are simple and easy to prepare.

There is a large selection of flavorful oatmeal varieties on the market these days. Unfortunately there is also a lot of sugar added to these prepackaged items and some of them are not as natural as you may want them to be. By preparing your own plain oatmeal and adding some simple, natural additions, it is much easier to control the amount of sugar that you are consuming, as well as, the quality of the ingredients

All of these quick breakfast recipes start with plain oatmeal, either instant, rolled, or steel-cut oats. Just prepare oatmeal as directed on the package and top your cereal with any of the flavorful ingredient ideas listed, swirl it in and enjoy a healthy and delicious breakfast meal.

Cut up some dates and add to cereal along with some toasted coconut

Add some canned pear slices (drained and cut up) along with some cinnamon, a spoonful of honey, and some cream

Flavored yogurt, like peach, strawberry banana, or vanilla, is a nice addition and makes for a creamy oatmeal
