How To Be Truly Happy

How can we be happy? This isnt a particularly common question in our minds as at some point in most days, there will be a time where we feel very happy, but Im talking about a deeper happiness than that, a feeling that is constant and doesnt simply come and go with different day to day situations. And Im not talking about spiritual stuff either, although quite a few people have found happiness that way.
If you were to look at someone who is truly happy, you would see that it is not because they have achieved a lot and not because they dont have any more challenges, but that they are happy in spite of the challenges that lay ahead.
For a lot of people, being happy is associated with an object. Like a kid is happy when he has ice-cream in his hands, many people are happy when they have something they desire with them. But the problem is that our desire for the material things does not remain constant. Once we get used to that object, we desire something else and the whole cycle starts off in earnest once more. And we should mention here that happiness is dependant on an absence of insecurities. As long as we are worried about what we have and how long it will be with us, we remain unhappy; and that is why we see billionaires from around the world getting psychological counseling to lead their lives in a happier manner.
When we are not insecure on the inside, there is no real reason to be unhappy. All of the self-help gurus and all of the worlds religions say the same thing and they are all fundamentally correct. However, many people attend these self-help sessions and come away temporarily motivated to be happy, but after a week or so the feeling wears off and they end up back where they started. The way to true happiness is not to simply practice the teachings of self-help gurus whenever you can, but to incorporate them into everything you do, and if you have the right mentor for that, it really isnt that difficult.
The first step in the right direction would be when we attend a series of sessions (not just lectures) by a coach who is genuinely happy. Find that person, and you will be doing yourself a great favor!
