Do Not Force Feed Your Toddler

Trouble at the dinner table? A few parents are having nightly standoffs with their kids who are picky eaters. And this pesky habit starts as early as ages 1 to 3 years old. Toddlers start to become fussy eaters as part of their learning process to become independent. However, dealing with this nasty routine on a daily basis can be really tedious for the already-stressed parents. For parents who are in desperate need to improve their toddlers feeding habits, here are some very important things to consider:
* A mums or dads task is to provide good, healthy food in a happy but distraction-free environment. Parents make the mistake of putting toys in front of their toddlers during eating time to bribe them to eat. Instead of being a solution, the toys lovingly bought through payday loans become a real distraction. Toddlers are more likely to be interested in playing with the toy than eating the food prepared for them.
* Another mistake parents commit in the feeding of their toddlers is giving too much food for them to finish in one meal. Since these tykes have minds of their own, allow the kids to decide how much of it to eat. In addition, giving the toddlers too much milk or fruit juice will definitely reduce their appetite for the main meal.
* Parents should have a routine of three meals a day with light snacks in between. Children who are growing normally and plays with zest like other toddlers must get adequate nutrition and energy boosts. However, parents should refrain from giving snacks to their toddlers close to meal times or, naturally, they would not eat their prepared meal.
* This cannot be emphasized enough: offer small servings to toddlers, and seconds if they want some more. However, if none is eaten, parents must stay calm, clear the food away, and offer nothing until the next meal or snack. Remember, getting angry would only aggravate the situation.
* Make eating fun! The children would love it if they go on picnics in parks or have meals in the garden as a family.
* Parents should also remember not to keep too much junk food or non-nutritious food in the house. If it is not there, the kids would not ask for it.
If parents have extra money from their fast payday loans, they should not buy toys or clothes first, but good, healthy food for the children.
