College is also beneficial to many in that it help shape their transition from children into adults. It helps them discover what subjects they are interested in as well as helping them with their interpersonal skills. College is for many a training ground for later in life. Another reason why college might not be a clear-cut choice for some is its extremely high price. Many students need to go heavily in debt just to graduate with a degree and when you compare that to the alternative of making money and perhaps saving right out of high school, the choice becomes more complicated.
