Introduction: People usually associate living the good life with wealth, and that is exactly why plenty of people are not happy with their current predicaments. One should understand that it is not just money that makes life a good one, but other things as well
Difficulty: 5
Things You'll Need: a notebook or pad, materials or equipment for a hobby or sport, a mirrot, a realistic look at life, stong self conviction
Step 1. What are you grateful for? Remember that even if you think your life completely sucks, there must be certain things that you are grateful for in your life. Or think of the things that make you happy and list them down in your notepad.
Step 2. If you start to feel some painful emotions (i.e. you're angry at someone, you're mad about something, you're sad about something), try to distract your thoughts and emotions by taking out your list and reading it.
Step 3. Start paying your debts. Debts can put you in constant worry, so resolve to start paying off all that you owe. Don't loan anything else and don't use your credit card to splurge and shop. Finish paying all your debts until all you have left is your mortgage.
Step 4. List down your goals. These goals do not have to be long term ones; just make sure that they're realistic and attainable. Some examples are:
- Making someone smile each day
- Learning a new hobby
- Finish a new book every week
Step 5. Face the mirror say to yourself that you're beautiful. That's not narcissism, that's boosting your confidence. Because when you start feeling good, you'll be looking good as well.
Step 6: Stick with your budget, AT ALL TIMES. The wants in life sometimes cause unhappiness to many especially when these are not met. Bear in mind all the time your financial responsibilities. If you want something really badly then buy it if you can afford it. Otherwise, save up and buy it some other time. Never use your credit card or make another loan to purchase the item.
Step 7. Write down the relationship that you want to have with your family. Remember that your life also includes family members like your parents, your siblings, your partner and your children. Don't forget your friends as well. Think about how you can foster a healthy and loving relationship with them.
Step 8. Try a new sport or hobby. For a change, pick up something new and see if you can have fun doing it.
Step 9. Keep Your Body and Mind Healthy. Practice control in what and how you eat and in your lifestyle as well. A fit body helps you enjoy life better on a day to day basis.
Step 10: Be Optimistic! Being confident about whatever things it may be is just the best way to deal with it.
Tips:
- Be accustomed with what you have and what you can or can't afford in life.
- Since nothing is for free in life, save up and work on the things you currently can't afford.
- Stay happy! Smile is the key!
Warnings:
- Laugh constantly, but not randomly (you'll look like a fool).
- Look at life in a realistically manner in order to prevent heartaches and letdowns in the future.
