As you live your life day-by-day, there will probably be some times that you think your life really doesn't make a difference. You may think that no one around you is being impacted by you and the things you do, and that no one would really notice if you were gone.

Surrounded by billions of people in this world, it's easy to feel like we're insignificant and that only the very few select people will really make a difference with their lives. Satan is happy when we feel this way. However, God loves each of us individually and has created us in His own image. He gave us unique talents and opportunities, and He loved each of us enough to send Jesus to die for our sins.

You may have read this quote from Walter Scott: "God gave true love as a gift to man alone." God loves each one of us, we are all His creation. After creation, He stopped and declared that His work was good. We are His work, and that means that we are special to God and we are appreciated by Him.

In Psalm 8 David writes about this and He said, "O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, You who set Your glory above the heavens!" And it goes on then to say in verses 3-4, "When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man, that You are mindful of him?"

David has a hard time grasping why would would be concerned with man. After all, He created the vast universe and everything in it. When you think about that, it seems pretty special that God would be concerned with man. As David writes, we have been created to be lower than the angels but above the other living creatures.

He just looked at all creation and said "God it is AMAZING to me that in all of this you have made me the most special and put all things under our dominion."

Later, in the 39th Psalm we read David's words about how man is fearfully and wonderfully made. This is a great reminder. We are special because we were created by God. He CHOSE to create you! If you start to feel like your life is insignificant, stop and think about the fact that God cared enough to create you. You are precious in His sight!
