Those five words will change your life forever. After finding out that you are pregnant and letting your family know comes the *** of the baby. You'll sit there for a few months thinking of designs for the nursery but once you hear it is a boy or a girl your mind will go in one direction. So how will you decorate your first nursery? Here are a few tips which may help you out.
Your options will vary depending on if you find out the *** of the baby, or if you are just going to wait and be surprised. Nurseries used to be restricted to pink if it was a girl or blue for a boy. This is not the case any longer and not only that, but it is no longer a requirement to stick to what use to be consider proper for a baby's room. You know stuffed animals that are babies, such as chicks, ducks, lambs, etc. No longer does society look at you like you have lost your mind if you want to paint the room purple and put great big dinosaurs on the walls.
There are many themes out there which are for boy or girl. You either can choose a great Disney theme or Noah's Ark for a uni-*** room if you aren't quite sure what you are having. For girls you'll always think of pinks and purples. Making the room a princess theme is a great idea. Little boys have a few options but not as much as girls. You can also use a great movie theme such as cars.
Or if you are more traditional, there's nothing wrong with the ABC's or 123's up on the wall or baby dolls or little dump trucks. Why you can even get area rugs that have great big letters or numbers or shapes and colors on them. Placing a rug in the center of room or maybe towards the side where a rocker is sitting just waiting for those nights when you rock your little bundle of joy to sleep.
Other little things you can do are buying clear plastic canisters and putting designs on the outside for holding q-tips, and cotton balls, and little hair bows or any other little thing you can think that you might need. Walls in the nursery can be dark blue, orange, lime green, glow in the dark pink or even turquoise. The baby's name spelled out in blocks sitting on the chest or hung up on the wall or on a shelf over the bed. These are just a few ideas for decorating that nursery. And sometimes, you don't have to go to a department store to get really cool things for a nursery. Try out neighborhood garage sales or yard sales! You might be surprised at some of things you can find. Maybe you can find a used bassinet that needs a coat of paint or a rocker that just needs some new cushions. When it comes to a nursery these days, the sky is the limit well and your own imagination of course!
