My Trip To New York City What A Blast!

One fall, my friend and I were traveling by car, down the east coast of the United States. We happened to get very close to the outskirts of the big apple . and she mentioned that she would love to see the city. I said not while I was driving, but if there is a bus trip coming up, I d go with her. The bus trip happened, and we were on our way to New York city. Ten hours later, we were bedded down for the night in our hotel room. The morning came early, as we needed to take the bus from New Jersey into the island of Manhattan.

Thankfully, we had a tour guide on board, who had done this trip 71 times, so was very knowledgeable about the trip and everything to see. I had never seen so many buses in all my life. Everyone either takes the bus, walks, or takes a taxi in the city, so there are so many yellow cabs on the streets too. You have probably guessed by now, that I live in a fairly small town and traveling to the city, isn't one of my favorite things to do.

As we traveled on the road and just before going through the tunnel, we looked out the side of the bus and were astonished at high up we were, as there was a football field right in the middle, on the second story of roads. We were on the third and the highest. That was a little scary, as we felt like we were being pushed over the side, but of course we weren't. They took us on a tour of everywhere and told us to keep in mind where everything was, as we d have a day on our own. After being in the city a couple of days, it wasn't so hard to find our way around.

One funny thing happened while we were walking. It was raining quite hard, and my friends umbrella turned completely inside out as we came around a corner and the fierce wind caught it. She tried to get it back to its original look, but one side of it was completely broken. Picture this, her walking, holding the one side, with the rain running down her arm. I know it s not nice to laugh at someone, when they are having a bad time, but we couldn't help ourselves.

The day we went up the empire state building, was something else. I think every tourist was in that building that day, as it took us 1 1/2 hours to get to the top and when we did, we couldn't see anything anyway, for all the people standing four deep. We took one look and went down again. Central Park was very lovely and the apartment buildings around it, were impressive. It amazed us that we never saw a house.

I think my favorite day was when we had free time, so we walked from 59th Street down to 34th Street, stopping and browsing in all the big name stores. I almost bought a purse in one of them, until the clerk told me it was $999.00, then I changed my mind. The Trump Tower was just beautiful and we had coffee there, looking at all the people coming and going to work. We had a good trip, but I m sorry New York, you won t be seeing me again anytime soon.

Then I have heard there is some pretty exciting stuff going on here, so this may be my next travel experience.
