Gamers have never had it so good; what with the PS3, PSP and Xbox 360 and many other options to be found. However, one of the most popular consoles is the Nintendo Wii of course, though the fun to be had is tempered by the cost of games. And it is this that is the major benefit to be had from a Softmod Wii
The actual process to Softmodding a Wii is not too tricky; relying on software to make the changes rather than any expensive, complicated and time consuming hardware upgrades and the like. Once complete, it will be perfectly possible to play downloaded games, imported games, and much, much more besides.
That it doesn't void any warranty and costs next to nothing to do is brilliant too. Just make sure you know what you are doing and that any instructions have been sourced from a well respected outlet.
There are plenty of tutorials online to help with the process, which most people should be able to manage. Failing that however, a friend who has a bit of know how could do the job. Once complete, it will also allow for older games, from previous consoles to be played too. Finally those old '64' and Sega games can be dusted off.
Other benefits include giving the ability to play backup games which, as any seasoned gamer will admit, can in itself save a small fortune. The benefits continue with the ability to also play DVDs; standard or imported. This again is a huge cost saving to be had of course, but also allows for more interesting versions to be found and played.
These are the most common benefits of a Softmod Wii of course; and there are sure to be many others that are not really known about at present. The Wii is an excellent piece of kit, and this process just allows it to get better.
