With the strong message of how we are negatively hurting the earth and the environment, a lot of people have taken that message seriously and are doing whatever they can to try to reverse some of those problems. A few of the simple ways to help is to recycle, purchase par30 led or par38 led lights, and to buy a more energy efficient car to name a few. Another way this is being done is to vacation at places that also value the more environmentally friendly mindset and that are seen as green resorts. This article will mention 3 such green resorts or hotels located in southern California.
The first place is named Terranea Resort and is located on the Palo Verdes peninsula and has breathtaking views of the California coastline. They are committed to be a completely green resort in several ways. All employees are taught to use green tactics and the guests are encouraged to follow the 3 R's which are reduce, reuse and recycle on their visit. They use only green cleaning products at the resort as well as low emission and hybrid cars and trucks there too. The majority of their information is shared digitally cutting back on paper and transportation is offered for guests reducing the need for extra vehicles on the road. They are also working with a nature conservation group to keep up the well being of the natural coastline.
The second place is called the Post Ranch Inn and is up on the cliffs of Big Sur, California. It is a quick drive to quaint areas of Monterey and Carmel. The resort has 90 acres of protected space and they are working on maintaining the environment of the animals and plants that live in that location by teaching the guests and staff to the conservation efforts. The resort uses solar power as well as recycles water with a special system and keeps water usage lower with low flow toilets and showers. Low efficiency lighting in used throughout the resort as well as recycling bins in all guest rooms assist to cut down on energy. And only organic cotton is used for all the linens.
The third place is called L'Auberge Del Mar in San Diego and is a part of destination earth which is an environmentally focused hotel management business. They have a complete education for staff to use eco friendly practices everyday. One way they try to assist with this is to buying organic foods made there locally and from local growers. The property has also been equipped with energy saving lighting, heating and cooling and water devices to eliminate waste and save energy.
If more people could follow the examples of these resorts it would help. Try to reduce your car use by walking or riding your bike for nearby distances, get rid of all of your light bulbs with led ones, and attempt to recycle more than you throw out in the trash. These are one of many things that will make a difference in the environment.
Connor R. Sullivan recently searched the internet for a
par30 led for a home remodeling job he and his wife are completing in an order to become environmentally sound. He replaced several lights in the house with a
par38 led bulb.
