While commonly dubbed "buzzing ear", the medical term for this affliction is Tinnitus.

An individual is understood to experience Tinnitus if the noises they hear have no external cause and continue for some time. You can have a buzzing ear or hear the buzzing in both ears. Apart from a buzzing ear, Tinnitus sufferers normally hear a number of different sounds in the ear, like ringing, clicking, waterfall-like sounds, whistling, hissing, roaring and more. Sometimes, you could have a buzzing ear at times and hear whistling at other times!

Buzzing Ear - Top Tips:

Tip 1: The foremost thing to do if you've have an unrelenting buzzing ear is to go to your doctor for a thorough physical examination. Although rare, a buzzing ear is occasionally a sign of something serious such as the narrowing of your carotid artery, a head or neck injury, a growth or even an aneurysm.

Tip 2: Do not be frightened. As previously stated, the above "worst-case scenarios" are rare for people that have a buzzing ear. If you perceive buzzing or any of the other noises I have refereed to in both ears, the diagnosis of something grave is even more unlikely.

Tip 3: Most often a buzzing ear is brought about by prolonged exposure to loud noises and / or music. The American Tinnitus Association recommends protecting your ears from additional injury by wearing ear plugs and keeping your music soft!

Tip four: Buzzing ear or Tinnitus is a well-known consequence of several different types of medicines. It's so exceedingly important that you reveal to your physician every medication you take daily, regardless how insignificant it may look like to you. For instance large amounts of aspirin have been known to cause buzzing ear.

Tip 5: According to the American Tinnitus Association, there are millions of people around the world that experience buzzing ear. Do not give up hope! I know of at least one Tinnitus sufferer who has found a cure for his buzzing ear!

Tip 6: The American Tinnitus Association also recommends that you do your own research from honest sources; for example their own website and from other Tinnitus sufferers who have also been told by their physician that there was no physical cause for their buzzing ear!

Tip seven: Buzzing ear is deteriorated by stress and alcohol. It makes sense, thus, to avoid drinking alcoholic beverages. Getting rid of stress isn't simple ... specially if your preferred way to unwind was with a cold beer! Do try though, to find a different way of keeping as calm as possible.

Tip eight: A number of people find some relief from their buzzing ear or ears by using "masking CDs" (CDs of "relaxing background noise" to distract themselves from the tinnitus)

Tip 9: As previously mentioned, in my inquiring I've come across at least one Tinnitus sufferer who found a way of curing his buzzing ear. He could be able to assist you to removing your buzzing ear too!
