The process of enabling oneself to discern the location of somebody at any place, anytime, anywhere with a small tracking device is called a GPS, or technically termed as global positioning satellite. This technology has been only utilized effectively during the start of the new century, but now that it's use is recognized, it has taken in a very important role.

Trackers for cell phones using GPS technology is mostly based on the fact that cell phones are one of the most convenient devices created by man. Cell phones are taking over a lot of roles away from other bulky equipment, like pocket radios, digital cameras and your land line phone. Plus the cell phone has the unique function sending and receiving SMS, so it's like a PC in your pocket.

In the recent years, more and more are purchasing mobile phones due to its ability to be tracked. Cell phones have taken a lead in the recent years, from just being a poor man's dream to becoming an average man's necessity. A few times in our history when people have gone missing, or when people are in an unreachable place, it was only through the cell phone that we were able to remain in contact. There is the sense of security attached to the cell phone.

Mobile phones were able to provide what other devices failed to give or didn't give at all; security. The times spent not being able to maintain contact with your loved ones or knowing their condition or whereabouts is solved through a simple phone call. The need for communication is also fulfilled thanks to cell phones. Humans are fairly social creatures that need communication. With improving technology that has made it possible for cell phone production, it's not a wonder that cell phones are revolutionizing communication in the end of the last century.

GPS installation in the mobile phones have shot innovation up to a new level. This rise in technology allowed the GPS system to be seen almost anywhere, but most commonly in the new hiking watches and cars. The watches provide direction, like a compass, for misdirected campers and climbers. The cars in the meantime, are most convenient for tourists, who rent one and want to visit the whole area without the assistance of a tour guide.
