For a business it is very smart to place in some sort of incentive programs for your employees. Whether it is something that will reward them with extra money in a pay check or even something else. Incentives are a great way to keep your employees happy and very productive.
It does not always have to be something that is even associated with their job, but something else. A great example from past experience was something so simple, but it made the day much better for all employees.
Having about 40 total people who worked in the office, each person was asked by human resources to fill out a form. On that form they would have favorite movie, music, food, where they were born, and one other interesting fact about that person. Each week after these forms were filled out a quiz would be emailed out to the company.
A short questionnaire had been put out by the human resources department and only they knew the answers. Each week a new set of favorite movies, music and so on was placed in an email to the whole company. Except of course the person who the questions were about, they would be sworn to not tell anyone it was them too.
It not only allowed for a bit of break in the day, and one that was much needed for many. But it also allowed people to learn a bit about their co-workers. Things that most people would not know unless they were close to the person. So it just offered something that was exciting and new as an incentive to everyone.
Many companies place in good recognition programs like an employee of the month. This can work out well because people will generally work harder to get that title. Do you have to give something to that employee who wins? Well not really, a certificate, but for motivation you can place a money award on that recognition too.
You also have recognitions like an employee of the month and year that can be done in any office. Perhaps having clients nominate a person in your company because of their great work. Not only will this allow you to find out the cream of the crop in your work force. But it will have your employees working harder to satisfy your clients.
Place in a simple recognition program like this and watch to see how many employees work harder than normal. Also include a yearend competition that will match up those monthly winners and give one person an employee of the year award. Attaching a bit larger money incentive to this as more of a reward too.
As a company you do not need to pay out a lot of money to motivate your employees. The fact that they know they are being recognized as a good employee will be a great motivation too. Look up other programs that have been used by companies in the past for help.
Use these types of programs to move your business ahead of the competition, and always make your employees happy. Look at not only recognition but other incentive programs that combine unique gifts that will be a thrill for many to hope to win. Being creative in these types of programs can help your business out a lot.
