By the time I decided to actually "learn" marketing so I could also produce the kind of income I was hearing about, I had already known about this concept for quite some time and thought I was actually already doing it. Needless to say I was fooling myself.

This really boils down to one thing: As a network marketer you are much better off introducing a product that is already in demand. Find out what people are looking to buy and then bring it to them! A network marketer is not really a salesperson. The merchant is the actual sales agent and you are just bringing their product to people who are ready to buy.

This is not as daunting of a task as it seems. There are millions of products and millions of more people looking to buy these products. It still amazes me to this day at what some people are looking for on a daily basis and what they purchase online. There are many free tools you can use to see search volumes for specific keywords, as well as if there are any network marketing businesses already marketing to these specific niches.

Go ahead, type in anything that comes to your mind! I bet you will be surprised at what you find and especially at the types of marketing already going on there.

2) Driving Targeted Traffic To Your Offers

Okay...So you found a really tight niche market and you found a great network marketing company that caters to that market exclusively. Now you need to get the people who are interested in your offer TO your offer and allow the merchant to convert these visitors into sales for you and them.

Here is where I think people can really get lost. With all of the garbage out there on "secret" and "little known" ways to drive traffic to websites, there are solid traffic generation techniques that affiliate marketers can use consistently and that will never fail.

Become proficient in these basic traffic generation techniques and you will earn substantial income as a result. Remember that everything you do will eventually have a cumulative effect and your traffic will reach amazing levels if you stay consistent and focused.

Start out by getting really good at one technique before you move on to the next.

3) Increase Conversion Rates

I know that earlier I said it was the merchants job to convert delivered traffic into sales, but that does not mean you should not aim to make this conversion ratio higher yourself. Those that become "Gurus" in network marketing do so because they consistently test and track their conversions to find the best combination of tools to make sales.

In network marketing you may not have control over the merchants website, BUT you do have complete control over how your visitors will perceive the merchant and the opportunity before they get there. It just makes sense to cultivate the highest level of conversion possible for the least amount of effort. The slightest change in a landing page or pre-sell page can increase your commissions substantially, and overnight!

By focusing on these three major skills you will be able to quickly identify "rich" markets begging for someone to sell them something, as well as quickly learn how to monetize them in the most effective way.
