In the twenty-first century, image editing software programs are not an option, but a necessity. You can use them to perfect photo memories of weddings and anniversaries. They can be used to design promotional flyers and pamphlets. Some people just use the software for adding special effects that the camera can't.
1. Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop is perhaps the most widely-used image editing software. Adobe products have the reputation of being the most professional products available. With countless features offered, there is no doubt that the Photoshop program is the best program available for editing images.
2. GIMP
GIMP means GNU Image Manipulation Program. This software program is almost as popular as the Adobe Photoshop program. It has outstanding templates and editing tools.
3. Fireworks
Fireworks is another image editing software created by Adobe. The reason Fireworks is number three is because it is especially made for web designers. The features are tailored to editing images for web content. So, although Fireworks is amazing in quality, it is not best for everyone.
4. Inkscape
Inkscape is an exceptional program for image editing. However, it offers fewer features, in terms of tools and formats, than those previously listed.
5. Pixelmator
Pixelmator is available for Mac computer owners. It's simple and easy to use. So, it's ideal for beginners and people who only edit images for personal use. Pixelmator is ranked number because it is not universal to all computers and it is not very meticulous.
Everybody should have at least one, if not more, of the programs above. You will need to tweak a portrait of yourself or a photo of a group of friends from time to time. Make sure you get a program that's best for your needs. And know that you won't become an expert on image editing overnight. It takes time.
