The watch is considered a serious timepiece, one without we cannot live our lives anymore. When buying a watch it is very important to choose one that is representative for your lifestyle and personality.
It is sometimes difficult to tell the time, especially if the dials of our watch are not designed to glow when there is no light. This issue actually dates back from the early days of the modern world. A partial solution for this problem was the invention of the mechanical watch that made distinctive sounds every hour and half an hour. The downside of the issue was that these watches were so expensive that not everybody afforded to buy them.
There were people that had no means of investing in this type of clock so they used a sundial during the day and a gradual candle during the night. In the 19th century, the house clock became accessible for anyone that wanted to buy it. These types of clock were called Neuchatel pendulum and due to their interior mechanism they were able to make a sound each hour and quarter of an hour.
Starting with this moment, the watch has developed a lot. The luminosity of the dials was achieved by using photo-luminescence and radio-luminescence. This helped those that needed to see what time it is during the night. Another substance that was used in order to produce light was titanium. With the help of these inventions, the clocks and the watches became useful during the night.
The watch has become a symbol for culture, wealth and modern trends. And because of our hectic schedule, we have become addicted to our watches and clocks. The watch makes a clear statement about us and our personality. It is only up to the person that wears it to determine what kind of statement he/she wants to make.
