The feeling of anticipation before going on vacation is one of the best things you can experiment. Some well-deserved days of holiday away for daily hassle can be bliss, especially if you took the time to pack with you everything you need.
No matter if traveling for business or pleasure, one type of items you should never leave behind is personal hygiene. As hotels only provide the basics - such as soap, shower gel and shampoo - it is best to have with you your own toothbrush, shaving cream, aftershave and deodorant. People who travel often should even go through the trouble of procuring a personal hygiene kit whose content needs only be refreshed from time to time and which never leaves the traveling bag. This is especially true if you're one of the persons who cannot use other brands of personal hygiene items than your own.
Health-care should come next on the must-have-with-me list of things to pack. If suffering from allergies, heart diseases, asthma, or any other type of illness which requires daily medication, take care and pack with you the proper amount of pills or any other treatment the doctor prescribed. Health-care services outside your own country may differ from those you are accustomed with and may add an extra cost to your expenses.
Next in line for packing should be documents. The passport, the social security number, the plane tickets, the traveling insurance, the traveling checks, the driver license and any other necessary documents you may need should be packed all at once and all in the same place. Try to have them at hand all the time, at least until you're safe on board the plane or in your hotel room. Don't include here any cash, as you may lose it while handling other documents at the airport or hotel check-in.
Business travelers surely need to stay updated with the latest e-mails and require permanent access to their notebooks. If that's your case, bring with you a power adapter which will allow you to connect easily to the electric infrastructure in the destination country. Equally important, but for holiday travelers this time, is the touristic map updated with the latest attractions and entertainment options at destination. You can obtain one at the hotel reception desk, but it's better to have one before the trip, so you can plan your fun and relaxation more in advance.
And if you plan to visit Birmingham, don't forget to check the extensive lists of attractions in the city, from the Sealife Centre, The Jewelry Quarter and The Bull Ring Shopping Center, to the Warwick Castle, The National Motor Museum and Shakespeares House in the nearby Stratford upon Avon.
