Choosing a makeup look for an office setting can be tricky. Let us show you how to put your favorite beauty products to work for you!
Choosing the right makeup can sometimes be confusing. Were often told we should just wear what looks good on us and make sure it looks natural. But how do you know which beauty products are appropriate in an office setting?
Here are a few quick tips to take with you next time you shop for new beauty products that will leave you looking ready for that impromptu meeting with the boss any day of the week!
Face Natural is the key word here. Choose a lightweight foundation that wont look cakey or overdone. You still want to look like you when 5 pm (or 8 pm or 10 pm) rolls around. Youll want to look for a foundation beauty product that references light coverage. If youve got great skin, skip it all together and just go for a light dusting of translucent pressed powder or tinted moisturizer.
Eyes Stay away from anything sparkly! Glitter is for the bar room, not the boardroom. Your best bets when choosing beauty products for your eyes are to stay neutral. A base color like champagne or taupe spread over the whole eyelid looks universally great on every skin tone. Youll also want to choose a second color like a chocolate brown to compliment your eye color. Finish with a couple of coats of mascara.
Lips This is one area where your age needs to go out the window. Younger workers will be tempted to reach for gloss, but its not always appropriate for the office. Instead, choose a pinkish-brown lipstick and keep it handy for mid-day or pre-meeting touch-ups. In a pinch, its the one beauty product you can stash in your desk or purse that will leave you feeling like youve got it together even when youre frazzled.
Cheeks Another good place to embrace the natural look. Overdoing it on blush or bronzer will make it look like youre trying too hard. Pick a coral or soft pink blush and dust it on just at the apples of your cheeks. Its enough beauty product to give you some color without looking like youve run a marathon.
Now youre ready to face even the toughest of Mondays looking professional and ready to take on anything!
