"It's a fact that having enough sleep is important for all of us since it affects all our bodily functions. This means that the lack of sleep can lead abnormal bodily functions and we can't perform our daily tasks. You will at some point experience problems in the long run due to lack of sleep. Examples of the problems that we might face are:

1. Studies have proved that students who had adequate sleep before an examination day will get higher marks than those who crammed the night before, thus, they lacked sleep.

2. People who always don't have enough sleep may gain weight since this can alter our normal metabolic processes. More waking hours means more work for our bodies, including changeability of the levels of our hormones. Because of this alteration in hormones, our eating appetites get affected and make us want to eat more.

3. Accident proneness - If we lack sleep during the night, our body clocks may change, making us feel sleepy during the day. Because of this, those who are working will have poor performance because of being sleepy. This, too, can cause driving accidents because we might fall asleep while driving. Although try as we might not to let that sort of accident to happen, we cannot stop our brain and body from shutting down because they do need to rest even though our cells do not stop functioning while we are asleep. Taking a few hours daily for our brain to recharge is important so that we can function well. Our brain works the hardest when we are awake.

4. Moodiness - Lacking sleep results to irritability, impatience and poor concentration. In return, these may make you feel too tired to do the things you're supposed to do.

5. When we don't have enough sleep, we get stressed easily even with simple things because of the changes of our bodily hormones. The worst part is, stress is one of the causes of many ailments. We are risking our health if we force our body to work even if it's telling us not to do so. When our bodily processes are not in harmony, we easily get burnt out and stressed.

6. Diseases - Lack of sleep is one of the causes of cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, irregular heartbeat, and rising levels of stress hormones. When we constantly don't get enough sleep, our immune system gets weaker, thus, causing immunodeficiency diseases.

By getting enough sleep, you will surely prevent these diseases from happening to you. Eight to six hours of sleep a day is essential for the human body. And to sleep properly, you need comfortable sleepwear so our sleep is peaceful or undisturbed.
