Each day, we wake up and expect to either have a sunny or a cloudy day. There are times when the sun shines the entire day but there are also times when it rains. Storm, sometimes, comes up which, when it has a high level of intensity, can be very destructive both to human and the environment.
When the storm has a heavier intensity, then amount of destruction that it can cause also increases both on the environment and in mankind. In fact, there are many areas around the world that are prone to flooding. Flooding can be due to poor sewage system in cities. The effects of flooding can be very devastating. These effects are not only felt during the time when it happened but it can last for a long period of time. These effects are visible in crops, trees, animals and of course in houses.
It's man who suffers the most when it comes to this catastrophe. Many will lose things. Some may only look helplessly as their entire savings to an investment slowly fades away. Children lose their pets, many will lose their homes, their business and cars. The worst part is during this disaster, people losing lives will be inevitable.
The effects when we lose our loved ones are deeper than the effect of just losing a car or perhaps an investment. When flood takes human lives, those who are left suffer from another type of flood which can be summarized in one word - pain. The pain won't fade with time, we only learn to live with it. The bitterness is permanent. Returning to what our lives were before the flood may be difficult because of the damage that it has caused to the environment. Nature surely is unpredictable. It can provide us with all great wonders but it can also cause a lot of destruction.
Man must look at floods as an element that had been with us in this world, as unpredictable and as unquestionable as we are, sometimes. That's the safe way to look at flood so we, as survivors, can move on as there are still other storms to encounter.
