I remember all of the different candies I use to love to eat as a child. I don't eat as much of it anymore these days, but I do still enjoy it and I am sure many of you do too. I have noticed that a lot of the candy that was popular when I was little is no longer present on the candy shelves.
Advertisements for all of the popular candies were all over the place and all over the television. There was so much advertising over this candy it seemed as if they would always be around. That is seldom the case these days as most of those popular candies are hard to find. Do you remember some of these once popular candies?
Let's take a trip back to the eighty's. I remember around this time when the popular candy was named bonkers. This sweet and fruity candy was very popular among the kids in this day.
Bonkers flavors ranged from many fruity flavors such as watermelon, and strawberry. Another flavor that came out just before bonkers would disappear was the chocolate flavor.
One of the rare candies that was once popular was one that came in many different flavors, including a mini juice box. This now rare candy was called Bubble Gum.
This popular juice box Bubble Gum consisted of a bunch of tiny gum bits in a little box that you would have to eat a lot of them to get the full taste.
Another type of candy that you will rarely see, if at all, is the mars bar.
I personally think they just changed the name of it to Snickers Almond. While it may not be announced as such, try one and you will see the similarity.
These beloved yet lost candies will forever be in my fondest memories. I hope that some of them come back to store shelves soon!
