When you think of Morocco, you think of glistening mosques, chanting imams, rich scents of spices in the air. You dream of tiled mosaics, fine silver and gold jewellery and food that smells floral and fruity and spicy all at once. Here are some tips to finding cheap holidays and cheap holiday deals to Morocco.

Many do not realize the true size of this country, or how diverse it is as a nation. Morocco is home to over thirty two million people, and has several mountain ranges that shape it. This beautiful country has a lot to offer a traveler on holiday.

While staying in Morocco, you can choose from a number of different regions to stay in. Essaouira is a favorite region for many to holiday at. It has a lot to offer those who love to wander the beaches. There, visitors can enjoy the splendid surroundings and incredible service at some of the local hotels such as the Ryad Lyon-Mogador or the Riad Malaika. Ouarzazate is another area that is popular as is Fes.

When you travel to Morocco, you may immerse yourself in a cultural adventure. Not only can you taste incredible foods, you may also go for a camel ride on the dunes. Perhaps you would rather fly in a hot air balloon. Or maybe you might want to zip around in a land rover over the dunes of the sea or the desert.

When in Fes, take a trip to the Fez Mullah cemetery and to the rest of the Jewish quarter which was largely vacated in the nineteen sixties. There, you can also see the synagogue. While in Fes, visitors can enjoy a walk through a fourteenth century school, the Bou Inania Medersa. This six century old building is still, amazingly enough, in use as both a school and a place of worship.

For those who love to find great deals on just about anything worth buying, Morocco can be a paradise for shoppers. The souk is for many cities the hub of activity. Depending on which city or town you may be in, you may find any variety of objects up for sale. At the El Kibir, you will find many leather goods, at the Siyyaghin, you will find a lot of jewellery. The Djeema el Fna, on the other hand, is a feast for the mind and senses, complete with acrobats and dancers competing for your attention as you bargain for your goods with the vendors. At night, the market square is transformed into hundreds of food vendors, making it a massive open air restaurant.

Moroccan cuisine is a mish-mash of more than eight different cultural styles. It has been influenced by the Middle East, Africa, the Mediterranean cultures, the Moorish, Portuguese, Spanish and Berbers too. It is rich in spicing, favoring saffron and mint and fruits like oranges and lemons. A typical Moroccan meal includes couscous.

The climate in Morocco is similar to much of the Mediterranean. This country is very diverse in terms of geographic areas, ranging from mountainous to forested, from agricultural to urban. However, it is still home to more than four hundred and seventy different species of birds, making it a place where you can simply sit and take in the wonder of this incredible country.
