A game which was not purely a driving game as the gamer was able to get out of the vehicle and mess with other things in the area. That is what made it a legend. The first part, although not very hi-fi in terms of graphics and the view, totally set new boundaries for a driving game. The the scenario was more exciting than ever and the gamer was able to stop the car even during a mission, get out of the vehicle, steal some other vehicle and carry on with the mission. When this game was released in 1997, there was hardly any driving/racing game which was able to meet its high end graphics. Besides, it had wonderful collection of cars and countless customization options which could alter the performance of the car. The handling was also very smooth and real as compared to other games of that time

There is truly no car driving/racing list complete without this legendary mention. Released in 1999, this game told us what the new generation car driving games were going to be like. There was a strong story line, characters and explorable locations in the game. Overall, it was a role playing driving game which made the players a part of the game and story.
