A Spray Tan Booth Is Safe

Every summer we all want to have a beautiful, golden tan; but recently we have been told that soaking up natural sun is bad for our skin. Harmful UV rays can cause premature aging and worse, skin cancer. A spray tan booth is one way to safely have that healthy summer glow.

There are many sunless tanners available, however, they are difficult to apply, may end up looking streaked and they smell horrible. Spray tanning is an option that allows you to have a beautiful bronze glow without streaks and stripes.

Many celebrities use spray tanning to maintain their California tans year round without risking skin damage. Spray tanning uses a chemical known as DHA (Dihyroxyactone) that creates a chemical reaction on the skin. This reaction gives you skin the golden brown color by creating the pigment melanin.

Many people think that a spray tan dyes the skin this is untrue. The chemical reaction is what gives the skin the golden brown color, however this takes several hours to develop, therefore, most spray tans have a bronzer that will give you immediate results. The spray tan booth itself looks like a shower stall. There is a private dressing room attached to the booth; once inside the dressing room, your clothes are removed and you hair is covered by a surgical cap. You will be provided with a lotion to apply to your hands, feet, fingernails and toenails to prevent discoloration. You are now ready to tan; just step into the booth, stand with your arms out and legs apart and press the button.

You will then be sprayed with a cool mist from head to toe for about 14 seconds. Many people say it is a pleasant experience, like running through a sprinkler when you were a child. The machine then stops the spray, and you have time to step out and grab a second deep breath before the spray begins again, this time for 11 seconds.

Your spray tan will last up to seven days and will fade naturally without streaking. You now have a beautiful, healthy tan and you can be assured that you have not damaged your skin with harmful UV rays. A spray tan booth is a healthy option for that healthy glow.
