How long do you think nail polish has developed? The answer is over thousands of years. Thousand years ago in countries across the world, ancient women pursued nail beauty to make themselves perfect. The same situation happens today, women pursue different kinds of traditional and advanced nail treatments to make themselves look attractive!

Red was the most popular color for nail polish long time ago in many countries. For example both Indian and ancient Roman people loved red. They paint red nail for their weddings. For Peru, people would draw eagles on their nails as a respect for important occasions.

Cosmetics were common in ancient Egypt as you can probably notice different kinds of beauty products like eyeliners, mascaras as well as nail polishes on pictures of ancient Egyptian. In the old days, only women from royal family were allowed to use red nail polish. Ordinary people who wished to use nail polish had to pick light colors. For royal family, nail polish was painted by technicians who made the polish more long lasting with Henna and blood.

Around 1045BC, Chinese people in the Zhou Dynasty started to concern nail beauty. They did not use nail polish at that time but long false nails. As these long false nails were made of gold, silver, gem stones and jewelries, they were mainly worn by the queens only. Chinese people developed their first nail polish from flowers, egg white and wax in Ming Dynasty and red was their most popular color.

The first public nail polish was launched by one of the beauty product brands, Revlon in 1920. Inspired by car painting, A French makeup artist named Michelle Menard invented the first commercial nail polish. Unfortunately, this first nail polish was found with toxic chemicals and such formula was later improved.

In 1980, Tinkerbell launched its first Bo-Po brush on peel off nail polish. You do not need chemical remover to take it off. The nail polish became the most popular nail polish at that time. There is still brush on peel off nail polish nowadays, but the most famous brand is Minx instead of Tinkerbell.

The development of nail polish is amazing. In this 21st century, other than the normal nail polish, you can find mood nail polish which changes color according to your mood and body temperature. Most importantly, it is selling at $8 only.
