When you start planning your vacation, your first decision should be what type of vacation you want to have. Consider who is going with you, and what they enjoy doing. Everyone should be happy with the trip so plan carefully.

A Group of Singles

IF you're traveling with a group of single friends, you'll want something fast-paced and exciting. Some options may include:

A resort that provides accommodation, dining, entertainment, sport and other activities at one venue;

A tour where you can travel through a country.

It may also be fun to hire a vehicle to tour on your own time. You'll still need to plan the trip, for safety and organization.

Backpacking is an affordable to way to tour a country or countries, and can be lots of fun in a group;

You'll also probably have a lot of fun on a cruise.

Family

Keeping the kids entertained will be the biggest hurdle. Seaside resorts offer loads of activities for kids - in fact the sea itself usually suffices for children under the age of 14.

Children will have fun hiking and seeing nature.

Farm holidays are a great experience for children, providing a back-to-nature experience that keeps them busy feeding animals, cleaning out barns, horseback riding and walking for miles. This will be a nice, rustic vacation that will also have farm fresh produce on meal times.

Getting Away For Romance

Romantic getaways should be quieter and peaceful. Look for something on the countryside with great dining. Romantic getaways involves privacy and flexibility.

Mature Vacations

Once the kids have left home - or stopped vacationing with you, your options widen considerably. Museums, monuments, historical tours, art and culture routes and wildlife or nature parks are suddenly options available because you don't have to worry about bored, fidgety, noisy kids any more. Casinos could be fun, with friends or just a partner. A health spa vacation can be super too, with relaxing treatments, great service and the opportunity to do some local sightseeing too.

You'll find a vacation for all interests. If you're traveling with a group, consider having everyone pick an activity to do.
