Creating An E-book That Sells!

"Fill Your Plate and Still Lose Weight!" was the first e-book I wrote. It was a cookbook that consisted of complete meals for one and all under 350 calories per meal.

The second e-book I wrote was with a business partner. The book was entitled "Is Your Site Suffering From Lack-O-Traffic-Itis" and taught home based small business owners how to increase the visitors on their website.

What I learned is that writing successful e-books for your home based small business can be satisfying, rewarding, and profitable. Below are a few nuggets of wisdom to get you started on your own masterful book:

*Topic choice is critical - choose a topic that you know a lot about or have experience in. This will make the process easier.

*Give lots of details on your topic so that readers can put the information to use quickly.

*Deliver over the top value by offering additional free bonus information, extra tips, or free offers that the customer didn't expect to receive in the first place.

*Add images, diagrams, photos and other visual aids to appeal to visual reader.

*Choose easy to read fonts that will make it easy for the reader.

*Write 30 pages or more to show that your book has value and helpful content.

*Hook the reader with an exciting title.

*Use testimonials for credibility.

*Tell your customer where they can buy extra copies.

*Provide a referral fee for those who wish to promote your book on your behalf.

*Use eye appealing graphics to give your book an expert feel.

*Price your book right. Consider using $7.00 as this is a magic number that people use to purchase a product with very few returns.

*Add links that will take your readers to upsells, special offers and bonuses.

*Include a guarantee with a no-risk factor for your prospect. Remove the risk for them in case your book is not what they expected.

*Make sure your sales page is done professionally.

Writing e-books is a wonderful way to earn a living.

Lastly, position yourself as the expert in your field for your home based small business niche, by creating e-books that can also assist with your personal branding.
