Looking to find out the best length of time to wait between body building exercises? Well, you came to the right place. Below, we hope to give you all the information you'll ever need to know when it comes to the waiting periods regarding building body mass. Read on...
How long should I wait between workouts?
You can work out every day if you like, just make sure that you don't use the same muscle groups every single day. This rule is not set in stone, of course. Some people can get great results by doing the same bicep curls every single day. But, for most of us, we follow the forty eight hour rule. So if you work your arms one day, do crunches and running the next. The truth is that you're not building muscle while working out. While working out, you're stretching your muscles out so that, while resting, your body can send protein in there and build them bigger, better and badder than they were before.
How long should I rest between sets?
If you have a goal of, say, two hundred curls, then what you want to do is split that up into a number of equal reps. You generally do as many as you're comfortable with, rest for fifteen seconds, and then do them again. So you could do, say, twenty, rest, ten times over, or you could do forty, rest, forty, etc. It depends on what you're comfortable with. Again, those rest periods are actually when your body builds muscle, so don't just do two hundred straight through. Stop and let the body do its thing.
When exactly should I work out?
This has nothing to do with results, rather, it has to do with when you're comfortable working out. If you start too late in the day, then you'll be all pumped and ready to "DO SOMETHING!" by the time you should be going to bed. Most people will workout in the morning or in the afternoon to keep themselves pumped throughout the day, and then to be dead tired for a good night's rest once the pumped up feeling is gone at night.
How many times can I work out in a single day?
You can work out as many times as you like every day, just, like we said, don't work the same muscles twice within forty eight hours. If you want to work out five times a day, that's great, as long as you have the energy for it and you pace yourself (typically a few hours between workouts), just don't overdo it and don't work the same muscles twice in twenty four hours.
How long should a workout be?
Depends on what your health and fitness goals are. If you want to just get in shape, an hour a day should do it. If you want to go pro and get into some competitions, you're looking at something like five to eight hours a day, maybe longer if you're gearing up for a big contest. If you don't want to go pro, but you do want to get ripped, three hours a day is probably just right. Again, it all depends on who you are and what you want to do with your body.
