It is always a good idea to train your parrot with time schedule. Make sure you follow their schedule and not your schedule because once they get used to their schedule, it is difficult to get them out of their attention.

Like children, they loose attention very fast and therefore it is advisable that you do not take so much time of lecture saying that you are training them, they get bored faster.

Just like any other animal and not a human being, training parrots needs a lot of time and patience but the good news is that, once you got them, you will have the greatest companion for a time.
