Cleaning cat urine is a constant battle for most cat owners most especially if they are not using the right product and the right method for the job. If have a cat at home, it is more likely that you too are struggling from this task of always eliminating the stains and odors most especially from your lovely carpets.

Sometimes, regardless of how thorough you clean that certain area where your cat has peed, the unpleasant odor will always resurface after several days. And sometimes, it seems as if that cat urine odor is just indestructible because regardless of how much scrubbing and cleaning you do, it’s still not enough to remove the smell. But the good news is it can be done. Even if it seems hopeless at times, the problem of totally eliminating the stains and smell is still very possible.

Cleaning fresh cat urine on carpets seems to be easy, you just have to blot-up the fresh urine using some paper towels and apply the product of your choice and let it dry, then just like that, that unwanted smell you’ve been dreading will disappear. It may be true that you can’t smell the odor anymore.

Unfortunately cats have stronger sense of smell than humans. It seems to you that the smell has already been eliminated but after a day or two your cat has urinated in the same spot again. The main reason for that is, you haven’t completely eliminated the smell and your cat has smelled some urine in the area attracting them to the same spot, that’s why they tend to pee on the same area all over again. So, unless you totally neutralize the smell, your cat will urinate on the same spot over and over again.

To totally eliminate cat urine stains and smell, you don’t have to use expensive cleaning machines and harsh pet urine odor removal products. All you need is something that has the ability to destroy the uric acid crystals that is causing the pungent smell of cat urine. The good new is you can even make your own solution using some ingredients that can be found at home such as liquid castile soap, lemon juice and hydrogen peroxide.

If you’re too busy or you have no time creating homemade recipes as cat urine odor remover, you can always buy something at your local pet store. Choose an enzyme-based product because it has been proven effective in removing such stains and odors. Always remember to choose something that is specifically made to remove cat urine odor and stains.
