I am certain you know, especially if you have a large number of people living with you, that the bathroom is the most popular room in the house. Typically, many people spend nearly an hour in the bathroom on a daily basis. And in case you have a great deal of people in your home you will know there always seems to be someone in the bathroom. It really is funny that the room that is the busiest turns out to be the room that is the smallest. But before you choose to redesign your bathroom we will cover a few things you may want to keep in mind.

The first thing would be to include a shower stall as opposed to a bathtub. It is usually few and far between whenever people use the bathtub to take a bath. When there are small children in your family, then you should get a bathtub. But if most of the people in your home are 12 years old or older this is an excellent option. One good reason to add a shower stall instead of a tub is because you are going to free up room in the bathroom. Of course, if there is a small bathroom for starters, you will enjoy the added space.

Furthermore in terms of replacing your sink in your bathroom select one that is made out of lighter colors. Darker colored sinks will really show the hard water stains, soap scum and water spots. This can of course may result in you cleaning your sink multiple times a day. So, be sure to look for a light color for your sink.

In order to change the color design of your bathroom and you plan to get colored fixtures, be sure to get your fixtures before you remodel. Finding fixtures that can be in different colors can be time consuming and may take more time once you order it. After all if you're not too choosy, limit yourself to white or off white colors for your fixtures. There are plenty of your common white fixtures in any home improvement center. This too makes it easy if you need to replace it down the road in the future.

Also if you're planning on adding tile to your new shower stall you will need to keep in mind that you will not be able to use that shower for a few days after it is done. So in the event it took a week to redo the bathroom, you may need to wait a few more days to use the shower. You may find yourself undertaking more work when you add tile to your shower stall than if you didn't.

Keep in mind, one important thing should be to make sure that you have a bathroom that's available when your real bathroom is being renovated.
