Video Marketing - It's Easier Than You Think

One of the first things all new network marketers learn is that people join people they know, like and trust. Now when you're concentrating your business building efforts offline, that's easy to pull off. If you have any personality whatsoever, it's not hard for folks to get to know you while you're out and about doing your normal activities.

But, when you're trying to build your business on the web, it's much harder to forge relationships with people. Sure, you can create website content, and you need to, because that's a great way for people to get to know you, but let me say this to you.

When you go shopping for a new car, do you just open up the newspaper to the classified section, spot an ad, then call up the dealership and say, "I'll take it." No, you don't do that, do you? You want to go over and see the car and take it for a spin. You want to ask the owner lots of questions. You want to get to know the car to make sure it's what you really want.

Well your potential business partners are thinking the same thing. People don't want to just read your information. Let's face it, it's easy to write about something even if you know very little about it. All you have to do is Google a topic and shazam, in half an hour you know more than 90% of the people out there.



What people really want is to interact with you. And since it's very hard to meet them in person, your next best option is video. People want to determine if they like you. And they don't want you to just stick to business topics either. They want to know what your family is up to, what your views are on politics, where you went on vacation, anything really.

And it's not only important for them to hear what you're saying, but also the tone you say it in. People may not be able to measure your sincerity in an article, but they can discern in your eyes if you're words are heartfelt.

I heard David Wood say in an Empower Network training call recently that the real reason he became so successful online so fast was due to his knack for connecting with people in his videos. He's a master of relating stories that people can relate to. You know after watching just one of his videos that he truly knows what you've been going through, because he's been there himself.
