Regardless of whether you have a mom and pop business, or a fortune 500 company, it's likely you have come across video marketing and I'm sure you've considered using this strategy to increase awareness of your brand. And you're right, video marketing has indeed worked for innumerable of companies to:

1.Boost brand awareness

2.Communicate product and services profile

3. Improve site traffic (if you still don't know, Forrester Research found that videos were 50x more likely to attain an organic first page ranking than usual text pages!)

However, one should ask, is video marketing the best fit for your organization? How do you know that it is? Here are a few thoughts/question you may brood over:

1. Is your company involved in educating people? In other words, are you a company supplying educational materials to people? If so, then video marketing is made for you. Plain text can help and yet bore some people. With a video tutorial, you are able to carefully demonstrate step by step what to do to your viewers. In just a few minutes, you'd have informed a person in a shorter time than looking at a guide.

2. Do you have a product or a service you'd like to display to the world and pictures just won't be enough? For instance, if you're a web-based design firm and you'd like to show the backend of a website you are creating, and you realize a video would properly illustrate what you'd like to convey to your customer. The attention span of a person nowadays is quicker (we all want everything fast - fast internet, fast car, fast everything). They won't have time to read through all that terminology, and would rather a fast 2 minute video to understand the products or services you offer.

3. Do you have a product which would be better left shown than just described by plain text? For instance, you have a video capture product and you know a text handbook just won't do. So you capture a short video to show how to use your product. Fast, easy, and also gets to the point. Let's suppose you had to screen capture everything - just how long would that document be?

4. Do your customers often ask about your products and services and you who owns the business would choose to handle it personally? Dealing with it in person via a video clip would only work in your favor. It can create a chance to show your clients just how much of a hands-on owner you happen to be, and at the same time participate in a conversation with your customers. Be it a video to talk about a product you sell, or to simply thank them for their loyalty.

Mixing up your business approach with a bit of video marketing is unquestionably the right choice for a lot of businesses. And it fits to a tee. Video marketing has many uses in a business - from coping with public relation problem, to showcasing your products and services, it is your decision to take advantage of it. A word of advice though - remember that it isn't enough to just have a video, you must make the effort to be creative and progressive with your videos. You don't want a company video that nobody has seen except your own employees.
