In case that you have spent hours and hours playing hidden object games, you probably know all the types of this genre, not to mention the rules, but ones that are new in playing them, may have some difficulties at first. As the name of these games says, hidden object games are games where the player has the task to find the hidden object on the given picture. There are four ways how players are provided with objects - lists, pieces, shadows or riddles. This is actually a little tutorial about these concepts of hidden object games and the way they work.
The list is one of the basic elements of these games. When you start to play, a list of objects appears in some corner of the screen. These are objects that are hidden all over the picture.
Useful way to start the game is to observe the scene and try to detect objects that seem that doesn't dovetail. Most of the times these objects are really the objects that are missing and it's quite possible to detect a lot of them, sometimes all of them, without even seeing the list. Many times is sufficient just to take a quick look and you will detect the object that appears different to eye. It may be said that this is some kind of a fault of these games, but it's useful for the player.
If there are still some objects on the list that are not detected, look all around the scene, clicking on them.
Another useful thing is to follow the shadows. When the game starts, appear shadowy outlines of an image. Players have to see these shadows and have to try to presume what it might be. If you've detected what the object was, its finding would be much easier. Once you see the shadow, keep in mind its form, until you find it on the scene.
Another element of hidden object games are riddles. Again it's useful to try to detect the objects just by giving a short look of the scene, but after that, read the first riddle and try to think of the answer. These riddles are usually simple; just give a try to detect the object that matches the respond of the given riddle.
Sometimes the task of the hidden object games is to find pieces of an object or a picture. You could see these items, and next thing to do is to find them on the scene. Helpful thing about these games is that when you look at the scene, you are able to detect colors or patterns that don't match the background. Click the spot that looks wrong to you, there is a big chance that this is the piece you should find. After that, do the same as with the objects - look at the form and color of the pieces that remain, click on them to claim that they are the right pieces and repeat this for all remaining pieces.
