By replacing hormones in their bodies, caring for their skin through various natural and artificial processes, a lot of people hope to reverse or slow aging. They even engage in strenuous fitness programs that are meant to help with this. Many of them achieve good results for a time and are able to slow down aging. If you do things right too, you too can get the same results and slow down your aging.

Preventing death is an ideal that has gone on for ages, and the failures man has endured in this field have eclipsed all the successes found in science and technology over the centuries. For some reason, a lot of people just want to live on and on. And for some reason, they are unable to. Perhaps it just wasn't meant to be. But they can slow down the aging process by doing certain things right - such as eating well and living well. You can slow down aging too if you know and do the right things.

To begin with, you can eat well, consuming healthy diets; following this, you can exercise daily to set your muscles tone and metabolism; and finally, you can use some food supplements like vitamins and hormones. They are known to help.

The Chopra Center for Wellbeing and Andrew Weil, both in America work extensively on life extension and anti aging. The latter puts much focus on alternative medicine, holistic health, and herbal supplements. It teaches and experiments on integrating Eastern and Western medicine to solve problems associated with aging. The former, however, is a stickler for mind-body medicine.

Scientists and alchemists have worked together for age, trying to find ways to reverse old age. The little successes they achieved were short lived, with the potions and lotions that they came up with. So they indulged in various types of eating and drinking, and injecting various substances into their bodies. All to no avail.

Genetics play a complex role in longevity and extended life. What can be said for certain is that if your genes are susceptible to an ailment or disease, it could well affect how old you grow. Also, the way you think will certainly influence how you feel about being old, and so you might or might not live very long, if you have negative thinking all the time.
