Plastic cars are the future of the automobile. Plastic cars weigh much less than cars made of steel or fiberglass and the plastic car is strong and safe. Making cars of plastic is not a new idea but is one that hasn't caught on yet in North America. Many Europeans already drive vehicles made almost entirely of plastic. Plastic cars are great on gas mileage with the Acrea Zest getting 66 miles to a gallon of gas.
It is no wonder that plastic cars are popular in Europe, gas is at a premium, and many people only have a moped or depend on public transportation to get them around. Plastic cars are much less expensive than traditionally designed vehicles and save money on gas. It would also be easier to make an electric car out of plastic, since the plastic car would be lighter and would not drag the battery down as fast.
Plastic cars may soon transform the auto industry and help bring it out of the hole that it has fallen into. Innovative designs can be made easier with the plastic material. New designs are always good for new car sales. Skilled engineers can mold carbon fiber reinforced plastics into virtually any shape which is another advantage to a plastic car. It is much easier to create plastic cars that are aerodynamic than it is to fashion them out of steel.
Plastic cars can be made into many cool designs and they will be more affordable so everyone who wants one will have ownership within their reach. It is time for us to not be so dependent on foreign oil and driving a plastic car would save a tremendous amount on fuel.
Plastic cars could play a big part in the recovery of the automobile industry in the United States. The cars would be more affordable to buy and to own. This would allow people who really need a new car to own a plastic car. The purchaser would then save money on gas, maybe enough to pay for their new plastic car!
New ideas are hard to sell sometimes but great gas mileage is a major selling point of a plastic car. The plastics that cars can be made of are both strong and light which will increase fuel efficiency and safety at the same time. Plastic cars are very durable and replacement parts would be less expensive.
It is time for Americans to take a closer look at the plastic car. There are many advantages to driving a car made almost entirely of plastic. In our modern world, we need the advantages that a plastic car can bring to our lives. Saving fuel so that we are not so dependent on foreign oil is a sacrifice that we must take very seriously. If the majority of drivers were driving plastic cars it is astounding how much fuel we would save.
The auto industry is at a turning point, a point that they thought they would never see. Change isn't easy but a plastic car could make the change a lot easier for all of us. |
