If moving supplies and moving boxes complement each other and form a single unit, this unit forms another made-for-each-other equation with those who have to move from one place to another. Anyone who has to shift to another place is completely dependent on the combination of boxes and supplies to shift their things to the new place, and make themselves operational in the new place.

Most companies have combo packages of moving boxes and moving supplies designed to suit the requirements of different rooms like bedroom, kitchen, etc.
The needs of each person and family for their bedroom and kitchen could be different. So, people can choose from combinations that companies offer and customize a bit to suit their requirement. A standard moving supplies kit for a room may have 5 large boxes and 10 medium boxes where the size of the large moving boxes can be 16" x 18" x 18" and the size of the medium boxes 16" x 13" x 13". If the number does not satisfy the user's requirements, they can request the combination to be changed into, say, 7 large boxes and 8 medium boxes. Special boxes for moving wardrobes are also offered by many companies, while there are also extra large boxes of size 24" x 18" x 18" available.
While people can adjust or compromise a bit on moving supplies like duck tape or loose fill, the quality of the moving boxes is non-negotiable. The boxes have to be strong and must have sufficient weight bearing capacity to support the items packed within it. Checking the boxes is not a big problem because manufacturers of cardboard boxes give on the underside of the box detailed specifications of their stacking strength, compression strength, and the weight the box is allowed to carry.
And with new gizmos flooding the market, moving supplies are also evolving to accommodate these objects. Those who shift frequently will find that with every subsequent shift there are special additions to the supplies kits and moving boxes that they are offered.
