E mail marketing has a lot more to do than simply e mailing people information that they would like to know. It also has a lot to do with the relationship that you hold with those individuals on a personal level. Many people with a very large list are able to make their subscribers feel as if they are the only one that they are e mailing on a consistent basis. While there is somewhat of an art form that is involved in e mailing someone in such a way, it really has to do a lot with the way in which they are contacted. If you really want to have a responsive list, you re going to have to take care of them from day one.

Many marketers make the mistake of contacting their list with a marketing message too early in the game. While this is fine if you re only after a quick profit, your lists can really be a source of ongoing profit for many years as long as you don t alienate them somewhere along the way. One of the easiest ways to alienate a person is to try to sell them something before you establish a relationship with them. By taking a little bit of time to contact them with some solid information, you re helping to build a relationship that will send them running for their credit card whenever you do finally decide to market to them in some way or another.

One of the best ways to establish this relationship is actually by using automated means. Once they get on your e mail list, you can put them into a short autoresponder series that contains your very best information that you have available. In this way, you don t have to worry about trying to dazzle each individual every time somebody joins up on your list. If you have these messages in the forefront through an autoresponder series, it will be something that you do not even need to think about. Once they sign up for your list, they are sent these messages, a relationship is established and then you can go about your business of marketing to your list effectively.

Another way that you can build responsiveness in your list is by having them take part in some kind of feedback. This also can be done in a lot of different ways but one of the most popular is by posting your messages on your blog and allowing your subscribers to comment on the message. Not only does this help to make your list more responsive and make you more personal to them, it also gives you a lot of invaluable feedback from people who are interested in what you have to say. You can then use this feedback in order to come up with subjects for future newsletters and even as a way to problem solve and to come up with new products for them to purchase. Just remember, a small responsive list is much better than a large unresponsive list. Take care of your subscribers and they will take care of you for a very long time to come.
