Researches have shown that diabetic people who got less or interrupted sleep tend to have worse levels of blood sugar in comparison to those diabetic people who receive well rest conditions. Hemoglobin levels are also worse in people who get little or poor sleep. Another reason that a diabetic person should get adequate sleep is that most of the hormones are produced over night while the person is sleeping, and remember, insulin is also a hormone.

For diabetic people, berberine activates the body enzymes which increase the sensitivity of body tissues to insulin, thus lowering the level of blood sugar in the body. In addition to that, it also improves the blood circulation, regulates the carbohydrates metabolism and lowers cholesterol level in the blood.
