A personal space that reflects our tastes, background, interests and personality, that’s what every home should be. From the paints on the walls, to the furniture, to the throw pillows and table decors we use to add accents to our living spaces, everything should be about the people occupying that area and their preferences, regardless of culture, nationality, age or gender.
There are a lot of ways to achieve this type of environment inside our domiciles. However, there are three basic techniques that one must consider to avoid overdoing your private corners, as well as to avoid dullness inside the place that would provide us comfort and satisfaction.
Proper order and shade - Experimenting with curtains, furniture, carpets, and seat cover isn’t a bad thing. The colors and shapes of these significant things in our living room or bedroom can actually serve as the keys to accentuate spaces and corners. However, too much color and shapes sometimes create unnecessary clutter. Though some “confusing” designs look good, we should always consider the color of our floorings and walls, in order to create harmony between the furnishings and designs. For example, if our seat covers are in stripes of black and white, it is would be better to use red, blue and purple plain pillow cases for the throw pillows instead of the floral or polka-dotted ones.
Be close to nature - To create the best atmosphere and fresh air in your home, place pots of flowers and plants in each room. Natural designs create a relaxing and healthy ambiance, but choose which plants or flowers to use on a specific room. I recommend that you create a twist with your basic design, like center table jars and ceramics with a freshly cut flowers. Just be sure that you know how to maintain these plants in your home. Note: water your plants daily but trim it once a week to preserve its freshness.
Natural lighting - This is probably the most basic ingredient that a homemaker should not forget, if he or she wants to achieve a natural looking-coziness in his or her own crib. Maximizing the natural lighting is actually one of the best techniques that we can do to beautify our home.
