Edwin Beard Budding invented the first lawn mower in 1830 after getting inspiration from other cutting devices. Initially, Budding invented the lawn mower to cut the grass of gardens and sports grounds. He signed his first agreement on May 18, 1830. Lawn mower manufacturing began in the 1850s. Lawn mowers have been used ever since to effectively help keep lawns trimmed and maintained.

There are several different types of lawn mowers. The manual or traditional type is operated manually. A person needs to be physically strong in order to get them to work due to the heavy weight that’s required to push them in cutting grass.

There are also professional lawn mowers that are widely used. These are equipped with horizontal cutters that provide the best result when cutting grass. These types of lawn mowers are typically used to maintain large areas like stadiums, universities and gardens.

If you have spots to mow that are difficult to reach, you may be interested in clipper lawn mowers. They have scissors that consist of long blades. Clipper mowers can be used manually or automatically.

These days, one of the most entertaining and useful lawn mowers is the Robotic Mower. This actually makes mowing fun. A certain area to be mowed must be chosen. Then you need to mark off that area and program your Robotic Mower to mow that particular area.

There are some things that need to be taken into consideration when you’re shopping for a new lawn mower. These include:

• The weight should not be too heavy or you’ll have trouble operating it.
• It needs to have to good safety features. Also, the blades should not be exposed.
• It needs to be easy to start.
• Handling it should be easy.
• For a small lawn area, a push mower is best.
• For a large lawn you may want to consider a riding mower.
• To trim grass, you’ll want a mulching lawn mower.
• To mow a hilly area, get a self-propelled mower.

Mowing isn’t hard to do. Lawn mowers provide a lot of help when it comes to the maintenance of your lawn. Just be sure that you’re getting the right size and type of lawn mower when you purchase one.
