Nokia is undoubtedly a market leader in the mobile phone industry at the moment. In fact, it is one of the top brands out there today in terms of both the popularity of the models and the technological capabilities they have. The Nokia 6500 Slide is no different. Released along with its sister phone, the Nokia 6500 Classic, the Nokia 6500 Slide is designed specifically with the average user in mind. This means that it is relatively easy to use but is packed full of features that enhance the usability and functionality of the phone.
The Nokia 6500 Slide is, as you may guess, a slider and looks immediately appealing to the naked eye. It is fashionable as a result of the metallic effect it has, which many phones seem to have at the moment. The casing is sliver and black and so is attractive to all ages and genders, and is dominated by the 2.2 QVGA LCD screen. The screen is at the cutting edge of technology, displaying a huge 16.7 million colours. This is rather useful, as you will see a little later on in this review.
The Nokia 6500 Slide has a full feature list that is full of lovely elements that are many users prerequisite list at the moment. For example, it is a 3G phone and has all of the connectivity that is attached to that bluetooth, WAP browser, HTML, XHTML and USB. It also has FM radio featuring visual radio, which is a new technology that allows any user an interactive experience. In line with that music capability, the Nokia 6500 Slide also has a media player that will support all of the major formats so you can download tunes from your computer or load them via transfer as and when you like.
The camera on the Nokia 6500 Slide is also a lovely touch on its own. It is 3.2MP and taps into the Carl Zeiss affiliation that Nokia relies heavily on for their quality cameras. It has a functional lens, 8x zoom and double LED flash, all of which add up to fantastic photos that many 5MP cameras would be proud of! This is why the display is so great as well because it will highlight every single detail in the images and videos you take.
There are some slight niggles associated with the Nokia 6500 Slide though. For example, the camera does not have auto focus so taking good photos if you are moving is out of the question. However, the main one is the memory, or lack of it. The inbuilt memory is just 20MB, which is pathetic given that the phone has such great image and music capabilities. Although a 256GB microSD memory card comes as a part of the package, if you want to use all of the features then investing a better memory card will definitely enhance the phone s capabilities for you.
The Nokia 6500 Slide is a usable and functional phone. It is perfect for people that want a phone to do everything and do it well. The few issues are so minor that they are hardly worth mentioning, which is why this phone is one of the best around no matter how technologically knowledgeable you are! |
