It is our duty, being the privileged class to help out Puerto Vallarta, in its time of need. <br /> <br /> With the help of DIF (Social Services)/Child Protective Services, a summer long initiative, where all the families who have been affected by this are going to be aided. Food packages are going to be produced and then provided to all of these people. All these packages would be circulated by Child Protective Services via Social Services -DIF to as many as possible. The food packages will contain: Beans (dried, packaged, not canned), Rice, Lentils (dried), Bouillon Cubes (consume cubes) and Pasta (dried, soup pasta, packaged). <br /> <br /> All of you can contribute as little or as much as you can. This cause needs all the support it can get from everybody. Bring whatever you can to this Food Drive because the goal is to collect up to 672 food packages for 6 months which makes about 4,032 packets.<br /> <br /> Recently, students and teachers both attended English and Spanish classes which were offered at the PVRPV office. All the teachers put in their efforts and time into voluntarily teaching. The money which was generated by the donations of the students, who attended both English and Spanish classes, was inspiring. About $16,830.00 pesos were collected from English Classes, and about $4000.00 pesos were collected from Spanish Classes which added up to a total of $20,830.00 pesos. <br /> The money which was raised for charity could not have been possible without the donations of the students and the teachers who endorsed endless hours voluntarily for this noble cause. Till now the following figures of different food items have been collected:<br /> A total of 715 packages of beans have been collected which equals to 715 KG of beans. About 705 packages of Lentils has been collected which makes about 705 KG of Lentils. 27.912 Knorr cubes and 1163 packages have been collected which totals up to 1.163 packages. These Knorr cubes are enough for this time and more are not needed. 728 packages of Rice have been collected and about 672 packages of Tiny Pasta Soup have been collected.<br /> This is a great achievement for all of those people who organized this charity event and also those who contributed generously. According to these figures enough food is available in order to make 672 packages of food for each family which has been distributed on June 1, 2009. Please continue your bighearted donations because then 2688 people, which includes 1344 children and 1344 adults will be able to feed.
