Once very 100 words is about right. That way your article doesn't get flagged as spam by search engines.

I really do not think there is a hard and fast rule for this, just make sure the word fits into the content and you should be fine. Another good way to get SEO-heavy text is to use common misspellings and other variations of your keywords to make sure your article is covering all of the bases.

Yea, that's a big requirement, they have to be in the title. If you can insert them naturally, then you can go ahead and use them as much as you'd like.

As long as you are mentioning your keywords in a natural manner your doing OK. Your keywords have to be in the title though.

About once every 50 words if it's a dense SEO article. Once every 100 if it's a casual one.

| I have always been told once every 100, don't know if this is right or not though.

In SEO the keyword usage is very much important. You have to use the keywords in main headings and sub headings more. They have high priority than the words used in text. Also you should not use many keywords in text. The text should be meaningful with the keywords.

I would have thought it was more; I try to use my main keyword twice in the opening paragraph, once if I can in each following paragraph including the conclusion, and I try not to do long paragraphs so as not to bore the readers. I usually don't count them though, so I might be guilty of keyword stuffing without realizing!

That's what I've been told. No less than three times and no more than five. I guess a good rule of thumb is approximately once every 100 words or so.

What is the average ratio of keyword usage in an SEO based article?
I was previously told approximately 5 times every keyword should be used for every 500 words. Is this true?
