How To Lose 1 Pound A Week. - By: Larry Renda

How great would it be to lose 52 pounds by this time one year from now. All you need to do is lose one pound a week. Fifty two pounds is a considerable amount of weight. These tips of course can be used to lose even more than 52 pounds. It may not seem fast enough to lose only one pound a week. Losing weight at a steady pace is much safer and healthier than losing large amounts quickly.

The easiest way to lose one pound a week requires a 3500 calorie deficit. There are several ways to create this calorie deficit. Diet and exercise combined is the most efficient method. Splitting the calorie reduction between the two is easily achievable.

Tip 1
Reducing five hundred calories from dietary intake will create the deficit needed. Five hundred calories can easily be reduced from most people's dietary intake. There are a minimum number of calories that are required to function. Caloric intake should not go below 1200.

Tip 2
Take the stairs; one possible way to burn more calories is to skip the elevator and use the stairs. A 200 pound person will burn roughly 200 calories per 15 minutes of stair climbing. If you want to lose one pound a week you could climb stairs for about 40 minutes a day.

Tip 3
This weight loss tip is no secret. Low impact aerobics are great exercise. Use aerobics to reach a 500 calorie a day deficit and lose 1 pound a week. A 200 pound person will burn around 400 calories for every hour of low impact aerobics. I'm pretty sure everyone can find an hour a day to lose one pound a week.

Tip 4
How about dancing? That's right a fun activity like dancing can be an excellent way to lose one pound a week. Even dancing at home or a club will help to burn calories. Of course at the club alcohol consumption should be kept in check. An hour of dancing will burn about 400 calories for someone weighing 200 pounds.

To simplify things I used a 200 pound person as an example. If you weigh more than 200 pounds then of course you will burn more calories per hour. Losing weight is a very difficult endeavor indeed. Looking at it as losing one pound at a time can make it seem more easily attainable. The methods presented here show an easy way to lose one pound a week and only require an hour a day.
